Review

This review applies to version 1.4 The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our informers.

Digital Image Tool is a small utility that performs several common operations over images and photos (like scale, rotate and watermark) in batches (many files at the same time), thus saving designers and web developers from a lot of tedious work.

The program features a single-window user interface, so every available option is right there. However, in my opinion the appearance needs to be improved a bit: it displays a black and white theme, with a very compact work area, and extremely small fonts and labels. This last point is not so trivial: some users (mainly novice users) will experience lots of difficulties using this program because of these space limitations. On the other hand, more advanced users can take advantage of the small space needed to bring this application on top of others.

Moreover, this application offers a bunch of options that will fit all our needs, like choosing the output format, setting JPG quality, performing visual cropping, file prefixing and a lot more. In sum, with a few mouse clicks and in a matter of minutes, you can finish several tedious tasks that could take hours. And all this for free, with pretty good results. So I can recommend this product for sure.
Advantages
  • Lightweight.
  • Does its job fine.
Disadvantages
  • The UI needs to be polished.
